Fur Rug
In almost every single Canadian gift shop you have those stupid “Canadian maple syrup cookies.” 14.99+ GST (Canadian Goods/Service Tax) the sign screams at you. What a great deal! Well sorta…
Except the fact that I can find better tasting cookies at the corner 97.5 cents store back home. But that’s besides the point.
I have my eyes set on the big stuff. Ya, that luxurious fur carpet which I presume is made of an actual real dead animal.
Fur Rug Price Tag
But alas, my dreams are crushed as I approached it, revealing the 4 digit price tag.
Maple Syrup Cookies
For those who don’t know what I am talking about when referring to the “stupid Canadian maple syrup cookie.” Do Canadians actually eat this stuff?

If it wasn’t made clear enough. I didn’t buy the fur rug.
I love animals. *Look speciously to the left and right*

I as a Canadian can honestly say, no one ever eats those cookies. They've probably been there for years. Also, most of us don't have furniture made of dead things. Yuck.
  • Probably right about the "been there for years" part.

    Hi!

No, we Canadian's don't eat those cookies......but we love the syrup....and someone is eating them...cause they churn them out for every airport in the country!

Come to Alberta next time...now that's God's country!

  • Ya, I thought it was more of a touristy thing.
And I've been to Alberta a couple of years back. I loved Banff National Park, it's stunning.
  • I love animals, too, and can never fathom why anyone can own a piece of the animal in the form of a rug at home. It seems more than a little gross to me, I don't know.

Those maple syrup cookies are new to me, at least where I come from (Singapore). These should appeal to tourists, in the same way that people who come to my country snap up box after box of Merlion-shaped candy.

Oh Dave....that price tag is something else. I would have just bought the cookies.....and loads of them too. I ♥ maple syrup!
  • I love maple syrup too.
