Beef Short Ribs
In a recent made up research, made up statistics suggest that 95.657% of all Earthlings enjoy eating meat.Who doesn’t like a nice helping of meat?
I was in the mood for some meat (but wasn’t in the mood to go all out all you can eat style bbq)so I went to a restaurant where you order from a menu instead. Korean BBQ beef short ribs. So good, you don’t even want to part with the bone. [See more...]

What the hell are you eating?

Vegetarian Sweet and sour chicken
The menu says “Sweet and Sour Chicken”, the waitress says it’s “Sweet and Sour Chicken.” But upon closer observation, it appears that there is absolutely no chicken in sight. So what the hell can I be eating? Well, it’s Chinese Vegetarian Food and most of the dishes are “inspired by actual meat dishes.” In this case, we have deep fried mushrooms topped with sweet and sour sauce which is supposedly made to imitate the taste and look of real chicken without using an ounce of meat. Good try but you’re not fooling anybody. But being a Chinese Vegetarian restaurant every knows it…so it doesn’t come off as a surprise.
You are using mushrooms to pass off as chicken? You con artist! I want my money back! [See more...]

Rose Bowl Floats
Every year, thousands of people gather for Pasadena’s Tournament of Roses Parade with many braving the cold night for a good seat. However, I was not one of those people. I stayed home and watched the parade in comfort instead.
However, after the parade people were allowed to get up close and personal with the floats providing that they are willing to fork over 7 bucks of course. [See more...]

Mountain High
Here in Southern California, you got people running around in shorts during the coldest times of winter. So without the occasional Christmas tree here and there, winter may come and go without you even realizing it. To get a taste of winter, I headed off to Mountain High Snow Resort for a real winter adventure. [See more...]

Eel And Salmon Steak
Hong Kong style cafe is a blend of two cultures. It is a mixture of both traditional Chinese and Western style food. It is a very popular style of restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley area especially for the new generation of Asian folks. Here we have Japanese style cooked eel along side a salmon steak topped on none other than white rice. [See more...]

Candy Cane Lane
Candy Cane Lane is a few streets in Woodland Hills known for their tradition of having some of the best Christmas Lights in the Los Angeles region. Every year, home owners set up some pretty amazing Christmas Lights to wow spectators.
Despite a rough economy and expensive electricity bills, the people of Candy Cane Lane still had their Christmas lights up for others to enjoy. The number of participating houses may have decreased but it was still a worthwhile trip. [See more...]

Fried Ice Cream
I love ice cream, you love ice cream. We all love ice cream. One ice cream truck equals a group of screaming joyful kids. So we know ice cream is off the charts delicious. How can one make it better?
How about fry the darn thing and add those extra calories in for that extra punch. That’s exactly what fried ice cream is. An extra cold ball of ice cream covered in a layer of breading that is eventually thrown into the fryer.
What you end up with is something that brings you pretty darn close to Heaven. [See more...]
